Meet Nicolás Uribe
Founder & Head Guide
Born and raised in San Martín de los Andes, Nicolás has spent his entire life exploring the rivers of Northern Patagonia. His connection to fly fishing began at just ten years old, tying flies by hand before eventually guiding anglers while still a teenager. What started as a childhood passion became a lifelong profession.
Over the past three decades, Nicolás has guided on many of Patagonia’s most renowned rivers, building a reputation for his local knowledge, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. After years as Head Guide at Patagonia River Ranch, he founded Southbound River Anglers in 2020 with a simple vision: creating personalized fly fishing experiences that combine exceptional fishing, carefully selected lodges, and an authentic connection to Patagonia.
Today, Nicolás continues to share the rivers he grew up fishing, helping guests experience Northern Patagonia through the eyes of someone who proudly calls it home.
